Orovada St. Senior Apartments - New Senior Affordable Housing Coming Soon
Silver Sage Manor, Inc. is pleased to announce it newest high quality affordable senior housing community is on track to be completed late this year. Located at 2580 Orovada St. in Reno the Orovada St. Senior Apartments will be a 40 Unit affordable community available to seniors (55 and over) with incomes under 50% of area median income.
The attractive new construction elevator residence will include 32 one-bedroom/one bath and 8 two-bedroom/ one bath, accessible/adaptable apartments with community and service space. The common areas will include a community room with warming kitchen, library/lounge, computer lab and business center, fitness center, game area and offices for management and supportive service staff. Outdoor areas will include resident and visitor parking, secure and landscaped grounds and courtyards, a barbeque and picnic area, gardening space, and a dog park.

SSMI Elects New Officers
Silver Sage Manor held its annual meeting and is pleased to announce our newly elected officers for the 2021-22 term: Ken Narducy - President, Diane Torry - Vice President, Jerry Mullen - Secretary, and Linda Canavan - Treasurer. The Board expressed its gratitude to outgoing Treasurer George Summerhill for his incredible dedication to SSMI. George is a founding member of SSMI and has served in an executive committee role for the entirety of his time on the board. George will remain an active member of the board and several committees.

Welcome Emily!
Join us in welcoming Emily to the Silver Sage Manor Senior Services Team! Emily will join Stacey as our Senior Services Assistant Coordinator and will be assisting residents in all Silver Sage Manor properties. If Emily looks familiar, it may be because she also works for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and has been assisting in food distributions in our developments. She is currently in graduate school at the University of Nevada, Reno pursuing a master’s degree in social work with an emphasis in geriatrics. Emily also has a degree in art and love all things creative and crafty! She moved to Nevada 3 years ago from Oakland, California and fell in love with all the hiking trails, wildlife, and festivals Reno/Tahoe has to offer. Emily also loves to read, bake desserts, write letters, draw in her sketchbook, and spend time with partner, Eric, dog Daisy, and two cats, Petrie and Ducky. We are very excited to have Emily as part of our team.

New Senior Services Team Member Lizzy
Please join Silver Sage Manor in welcoming our newest team member Lizzy! Lizzy joins us as our Senior Services Assistant Coordinator. She will be working with our Senior Services Director to assist residents across the portfolio of Silver Sage communities. Lizzy is currently studying social work at the University of Nevada with a goal of ultimately becoming a licensed social worker in private practice. She loves being outdoors enjoying the beauty of Reno/Tahoe, all things Disney, and animals. We are thrilled to have Lizzy help us meet the needs of seniors by providing high-quality affordable senior housing along with the services that enable our residents to successfully age in place.

The Board expressed its gratitude to Diane Torry for her extremely capable leadership for the past 5 years (in addition to her willingness to continue on the Executive Committee as Vice President)! We are excited to move forward in meeting our mission to serve seniors by developing high-quality affordable housing and are currently searching for a suitable 1-5 acre site for our next community.
